Distribute your music on digital platforms

To sell your music on distribution platforms like iTunes, go to your Yozik admin, tab “Items/Distribution”, action “Distribute an album on digital platforms”.

Each time you see the symbol  during the creation of your album, you can pass your mouse over it to get particular information about the current step.

Step 1

Step 2

1- Enter the title and the price of the album (this price will only be useful for your Yozik shops, but is actually useless for download platforms. You’ll have to enter your album sale price in step 6 “Choice of the distribution platforms”).
2- Insert the linked files for each track (wav 16 bits or mp3 320 kbps 44100 Hz) by clicking on “browse”. Once selected among your database, click on “send” to upload your title on Yozik’s server. Don’t forget to enter both the track title and price.
If your track has already been uploaded on Yozik, you only need to click on “Library” and to select the track to link it with the album bound to be distributed.
3- Repeat last operation for each track of the album. To add tracks, click on “add a field”.
4- Once all your tracks are created and sent to the server (Beware! The loading time for files may be long!), click on “create the item”.
Tip :
For the next three steps (metadata entry), in case of error, the erroneous fields will appear in red (see image below). For further information about the error, place your mouse over the red text and this piece of information will be displayed. You’ll be able to proceed to next step only when this error will be corrected.

Step 3

1- Insert your album cover by clicking on “browse”. Its size must be at least 1448*1448 pixels and it must be squared. Your image must be in a JPEG format.
2- Enter the bar code (EAN code with 12 figures for United States, Canada, etc or UPC code with 13 figures for Europe). If you don’t have any bar code for this album, Yozik will generate one automatically.
3- Enter the digital sales date, as well as the label name for the album (if you are autoproduced, tick the corresponding box).
4- The main genre (mandatory) and the secondary genre (highly recommended) of your album, are to be enterred.
5- Finally, in the field “Production notes”, put the information you wish to communicate to platforms concerning the production of the album (name of the recording studio, the producer, the director).
Step 4

From here, it is possible to return at any time to make a modification to a previously informed element thanks to the button “return”.
1-For the titles, rename or correct according to the name of the indicated linked file (in red above). They are not necessarily in the order you had given during the first step. To classify them in the order that you want, choose the deliberate number of track.
2- You need at least one author or one composer by track. If you have several composer-songwriters, separate names with a point comma (example: Auteur1; Auteur2; Auteur3).
3- Tick the box SDRM to guarantee that the title is not deposited to the SACEM and that the authors are not registered on it or if the piece is part of the public domain (you can verify this information with the SACEM).
4- Finally if there are one or several tracks you do not wish to distribute, you’ll only need to click on the button  (deactivate the line).

Step 5

For the optional metadata, indicate them only if you have the information. Should the opposite occur, skip this step.
We remind you that the ISRC code is the code to attributed by the SPPF or SCPP (producers’ labor unions) and that the ISWC code is the code attributed by the SACEM. These are attributed to each track.

If you have explicit words in your tracks (which can shock the youngest people), tick the box “Parental Advisory” (mandatory).
Step 6

Here, you can choose which platforms you want to distribute your album on, as well as the sale prices on each platform.
Reminder : the prices indicated in this step will be the ones applied by the platforms.
Step 7

Verify all the data are exact.
Every request of modifications of metadatas and price for an album or single already sent to platforms, not requiring a withdrawal then a return, is charged of 10€ including tax. In the case the request requires the withdrawal and the return of a single or an album, it will be asked to make a new distribution (29€ including tax).
Step 8

Enter the requested fields.
Step 9

Step 10

Click on “next step” to proceed to payment.
Step 11

Finally, validate your payment for the on-line publishing of your album. You can pay by: credit card, Paypal, check or thanks to the promo code which will have been sent to you in the e-mail of confirmation of your Artist or Label account opening (valid for your first distribution).

An approximate 3/4 weeks will be necessary between the sending of your album and its on-line publishing on all the platforms (a few days of deadlines for iTunes, Deezer, Fnac, Virginmega, from 2 to 4 weeks for Amazon).
